Build the past with the present auxiliary plus the past participle. The participle agrees with the subject's gender and number.

How the perfect is built
AUXUse the present auxiliary: sam, si, je, smo, ste, su.
PART.Add the past participle: radio (masculine), radila (feminine), radilo (neuter), radili/radile/radila (plural).
ORDERThe usual order is auxiliary + participle: Ona je pisala, Studenti su čitali.

The auxiliary follows the person; the participle follows the subject's gender and number. This drill tests both parts together.
