Serbian Noun Gender

Choose the gender of each noun. This is the first step before adjective agreement and cases.

Question 1/15 Score 0
The gender–ending rule
MASCULINEnoun ends in a consonant, e.g. grad, pas, stol
FEMININEnoun ends in −a, e.g. kuća, žena, reka
NEUTERnoun ends in −o or −e, e.g. selo, more, dete

Most Serbian nouns follow these ending rules, but there are exceptions you must learn per word: stvar and noć are feminine despite ending in a consonant; sudija, đak and tata are masculine despite ending in −a.
