Serbian Genitive of Negation

A negated verb normally takes its object in the genitive; an affirmative verb takes the accusative. Fill the blank with the form that matches the verb. The deck reshuffles every time.

The genitive-of-negation rule
AFFIRMATIVEAffirmative verb → object in the accusative: Imam novac, Pijem mleko, Vidim izlaz.
NEGATEDVerb with ne- → object normally in the genitive: Nemam novca, Ne pijem mleka, Ne vidim izlaza.

This rule is most reliable with imati/nemati and inanimate/mass objects. With animate or proper nouns, and increasingly in speech, the accusative often survives after negation — but the genitive is the traditional, written standard drilled here.
